After your hydration experience

How To Care For Yourself At Home

IV hydration is a great modality to increase your body’s intake of water and gain the essential nutrients it needs to work at its best.  Coming into The Youngstown Drip is the perfect solution to staying on the right side of hydrated.

After you’ve experienced the awesomeness of IV hydration, there are a few more steps you need to know about.  Don’t worry, it’s as easy to enjoy the hydration as it is to get it!  Here are a few tips:

Drink plenty of water! Yes, we just gave you a great dose of vitamins and hydration, but a body works best when it is constantly receiving water. Water helps flush your kidneys, your GI tract, and your bloodstream so that you can continue to function at your best.

Enjoy your day! You can receive an IV on your lunch break and go back to work.  Sometimes, you may feel a little tired after you get the IV, and that is totally normal! Your body just took a liter of water in an hour.  It needs a little time to acclimate.  Think of it as eating a big lunch, only that lunch is liquid, and that liquid lunch is good for you! (unlike the other type of liquid lunch…) You will get your second wind and be back at it in no time

But don’t overdo it. You feel great, and we are so happy to hear it! You can increase your workout because you have more energy than usual, but remember your muscles still need to be conditioned to take on more work. Be safe and enjoy how easy your workout now feels.

Watch your site for any signs of bleeding, swelling, redness, or pain. If you do experience this, put ice on the site for the first 24 hours, then alternate ice and heat after the initial 24 hours. If there is no relief after 5 days, go to your nearest urgent care or emergency room.  (This is very rare, but it can happen, so we need to tell you how to handle it.)

Side effects are rare but may occur. During the intake process, we make sure to evaluate your history and allergies but there are some things we can not plan for. We do our best to make sure you are well cared for while at The Youngstown Drip. If you experience any symptoms that are not normal to you, please rest, drink plenty of fluids, and do not exert yourself for the remainder of the day.

There you have it!  This is a phenomenal therapy but it’s not for everyone.  We take precautions to make sure you are the right kind of candidate for this, and we have trained staff that are able to correctly assess and care for you while you are hydrating. But when you get home, it’s up to you to keep up the good work.
